MMI Board of Directors and senior staff management conducted a 3 day retreat at Lake Kivu SERENA Hotel in Rubavu District from 23 to 25 January 2020.  It was presided over by the BOD Chairperson, Madame Alphonsine NIYIGENA.  

The purpose of the retreat was a review of previous performance and a comprehensive brainstorming of board on raised challenges with view to come up with concrete resolutions as appropriate solutions. 

The retreat was mainly focused on the presentations made by the MMI senior staff in fields of Human resources, Operations, Finance, ICT and Audit. It was also marked by the Board Training facilitated by Dr. Claude SEKABARAGA.  By the end of the board training, all participants were necessary equipped with knowledge on Health insurance overview, governance and risk management.

The board members considered progress,  challenges  and proposed way forward on raised issues and  came up with feasible  resolutions for strategic solutions with  best served  quality  health care services to stakeholders ( beneficiaries and partners )  and  for   transformational  growth of the MMI as  Public institution to a better future .
