Sudan delegation study visits Military Medical Insurance
On 12 July 2017, seven Officials from the National Health Insurance Fund, Sudan (NHIF) came to Military Medical Insurance (MMI) on a study tour which conducted under the theme “How Rwanda achieve Universal Health Coverage UHC”

The event took place on 12 July 2017 at MMI Headquarter.
The tour is aimed at broadening the knowledge of visitors about what is happening in other countries, exchanging ideas and programmes as well as encouragement cooperation, said Dr Basit Yusuf who is the Director General of Health Services, NHIF, HQs and the leader of the delegation
The delegation was briefed by Col Jean Paul BITEGA, the Director General on behalf of the MMI and the over view of the presentation consisted on the background of the institution, organizational chart, mission and objectives, source of funds, beneficiaries and benefits, contribution rates, medical treatment cost sharing, potential partners, medical services covered, risks arising from the work, control of health-related expenditure, achievements, risks, challenges as well as prospects.
From the meeting with the MMI and Sudanese Delegates from NHIF officials, Dr Basit Yusuf has expressed his satisfaction about what the RDF has achieved so far from in general in just few years after the liberation of Rwanda and the Genocide aftermath. He praised the courage, the discipline and high level of leadership that characterizes the RDF which he believes are the basis of what is now being seen through great achievements such as the remarkable contribution into international peace support operations, the cooperation between the RDF and the entire community ; the social integration as a very important element of trust between the institution and its People which shows that RDF is not working as an independent organization rather as part of the community”. He further said that both MMI initiative are very good lessons for a strong and self-reliant Country with a greater vision that everyone should to learn from.
